Real Estate investment Trusts are in the business of buying investment property and mortgages. My first venture into buying investment property was through this kind of trust. I also started to see exactly what kind of property then invested in and started checking out the same kind of property. After a while I figured I could buy the same kind of property on my own so I cashed out my investment in the trust and went to a bank. The bank had a list of repossessed property on their books they wanted to get off the books. I offered to buy eight properties with a one year delay in the first payment of the loan they would give me. They also agreed to lend me additional funds to get the property ready to either rent or sale and gave me the option to split off each individual property off the loan to pay it off if I sold it.
