There are some really good advantages related to self publishing. First of all, there are no rejections and this is a major plus for the writers, because traditional publishers reject more than 80% of everything they get. The second advantage of publishing a book yourself is that authors have complete editorial control. Otherwize, you can be sure that the house would ask you to change some things, edit a lot of your lines. The editors will really get to you and might even remove some of your favorites passages, or rewrite entire chapters of the book. I have heard other authors even complaining that they can hardly recognize their work after editing. All your months, years of labor can go to waste. But in self publishing, it’s all up to you, as publishers don’ care what or how you write.
