If a horse had a VIN number

Although a horse is not technically a car or truck it was a form of organic vehicle. Horses used to have a brand on them that was burned permanently into the horses skin like a tattoo. It couldn’t be removed without harming the horse, and this was akin to the modern day’s vin number. Although your horse didn’t often come with a record for when it got its hooves resurfaced or replaced, it did carry papers proving who owned it. Cars however have much more detailed records of their history and its not that easy to get by on the DMV records!
