One of the most famous and fun number plates ever made was for the visit of Pope John Paul II. It was used on the “popemobile” and then sold at auction after. It fetched an amazing and record amount of money. It has since changed hands a few more times.
This is the only fun number plate sold from the VIP series into public hands which makes it all the more valuable.
One of the reasons that plate is valuable excluding all the previous listed reasons is that it allows the use of the letter I which is not allowed by the DVLA since it looks too close to the number one.
