My company requires that a person go through osha forklift training before it lets him or her operate a forklift. The reason is that the forklift operator would have to work in more hazardous areas than normal. By going through the OSHA training, a person would be more prepared for the dangers in the area where he or she would have to work in. Not many people operate a forklift in my company because of this.
